⚠️ Before you start: The "Master Reset"
Seeing an error code on your display can be worrying, but most are simply designed to help you identify issues early. Many errors are temporary and happen due to voltage spikes or temperature changes.
Before looking up your code, try this:
Turn the scooter off completely.
Wait 60 seconds.
Turn it back on. If the code disappears, it was a temporary fault and requires no further action.
If the error remains, find your scooter brand below to identify the problem:
🛴 Loco Scooters Error Codes (Motion Pro, City, Lite)
Loco models share similar electronics, so these codes apply across all three models.
E1 (Throttle): Fault in the throttle signal. Check the connector.
E2 (Brake): The scooter detects the brake is permanently engaged. Make sure the brake lever returns freely to its starting position. (This is very common on the Loco City).
E3 (Motor): Communication problem with the motor. Check the motor connections.
E4 (Controller): Overheating or internal fault. Turn the scooter off and let it cool down for 10 to 15 minutes.
E5 (Battery): Battery voltage is outside the normal range. Charge the battery fully.
E6 (Communication): The display cannot communicate with the controller. This is usually a damaged cable inside the stem.
E7 (Overcurrent): The system has entered protection mode due to excessive load (common when riding up steep hills).
🛴 Kukirin Error Codes
E-01 / E-16 (Motor): The motor is not spinning or is locked up. If you just repaired a puncture, check that the motor cable is pushed in fully until the guide line is hidden.
E-02 (Throttle): The scooter won't accelerate. Ensure the throttle snaps back smoothly to its original position when released.
E-04 (Brake): If you hold the brake lever while turning the scooter on, this error will appear. Release the lever and restart.
E-06 / E-07 (Communication): The display cannot communicate with the motor. 90% of the time, this is a loose connector inside the handlebar tube (stem) or just behind the screen.
E-08 (Overheating): The motor is too hot. Let it cool down for 30 minutes.
🛴 Pure Electric Error Codes
Important: If your Pure scooter displays any of these codes, do not attempt to repair it yourself. These faults require inspection by a technician.
E1 / F1: Braking system error. Do not ride the scooter.
E2 / F2: Throttle error.
E4: Motor overcurrent (drawing excessive power).
E9 / E11: Controller overheating. Allow the scooter to cool down.
🛴 VSETT Error Codes
00: Normal status or a temporary fault that resolved automatically.
02 (Brake): The braking system is not returning to its default position. Ensure both brake levers are fully released.
06 (Battery): Under voltage. Charge the scooter fully.
07 (Motor): Motor fault. If you see this error, stop using the scooter immediately.
08 (Throttle): The throttle is not responding correctly.
10 / 11 (Communication): Communication issue between the display and internal components.
🛴 Dualtron & Minimotors (EY3 Display) Error Codes
E2 (or Brake Icon): Brake fault. Check that the brake sensor cable is not loose or stuck.
E4 / E7 (Motor): Motor problem. If the motor is very hot, let it cool down for 20 minutes.
E6 (Battery): Low battery/Under voltage. Connect the original charger and wait until the light turns green.
E9 (Controller): Fault in the scooter's "brain" (controller).
E10 (Communication): The display and the controller are not "talking" to each other. Check the main cable.
